MIT Killian Hall
160 Memorial Dr
Cambridge, MA 02142

This is a special concert in which Boston jazz and improvising musicians are celebrating the life and music of Garrison Fewell.  It will feature local musicians too many to mention here, but some highlights include Eric HofbauerCharlie Kohlhase, Luther Gray, and Curt Newton . The repertoire will cover the entire range of Garrison’s recorded music from his ’straight ahead’ years of “A Blue Deeper than the Blue” and ‘Red Door Number 11” to his group the Variable Density Sound Orchestra to the improv groups of his last few years

You can get the Italian version of this excellent book at Amazon.it.

Garrison Fewell (14 October 1953 – 5 July 2015)

GarrisonFewellOn July 5, 2015, Garrison Fewell passed away, following a long, courageous battle against cancer. He was 61 years old, and was performing up to a month before his passing. He is remembered as much as a kind and generous man as he is a world-class musician.

It was Garrison’s wish that his website, as well as his creations as a musician, author, instructor, and human being, be kept alive and available as a resource for creative and improvised music. In this way, Garrison will remain in our minds, ears, and hearts.

As always, we welcome your thoughts.
