VDSO in NY – recording project on kickstarter!

The Variable Density Sound Orchestra in New York is a new recording project  and we just launched a kickstarter fund raiser to help produce this recording.

Individual members of the VDSO are involved in various social justice issues, bringing attention to the importance of culture in today’s society through creativity and improvisation.

Your contributions will help cover expenses for the recording studio, mixing, production, distribution and promotion of theCD and support the exceptional artists involved in this project. The release date is September 2012.

Variable Density Sound Orchestra: Guitarist Garrison Fewell founded the VDSO in 2008 and released two recordings on the Creative Nation Music label. As the name implies, the VDSO is not a fixed group, but an actively changing and growing collective of improvising musicians and composers from around the world. With varied nationalities, ethnic and gender backgrounds, the VDSO conducts improvisational dialogues that transcend boundaries and promote cultural diversity in creative music.

About Garrison

Garrison Fewell is a guitarist, composer, author, educator and poet. He is currently a Professor at Berklee College of Music since 1977 and tours the globe giving workshops, lectures and performances. Garrison is a practicing SGI Nichiren Buddhist, speaks Italian and French, and is a wine collector and writer.
